Rollie, two things:
1. Freedom of the press
2. Where are these links in the Advocate?

It really does not do LSU any good to troll out big names if they have no intention of hiring them is all I mean here.

I think the point is that LSU isn't trolling out anything. O is free to talk to whoever he wants and the advocate is free to interview him if they think its newsworthy. The only thing from LSU is Miles saying that he's 'taking a very critical look at the entire football teams coaches included'.

those links really don't support your claim FWIW

I think that is a matter of opinion.

The way these things work apparently is that the early names linked to these jobs are really not even strong candidates. They are smoke screens really. Its not very good journalism at least.

One link was LSU saying 'no comment'
One link was Miles saying 'no comment'
One link was O saying if contacted he'd listen
where in this did LSU troll out a list of names to the public and say 'Here are the people we're looking at to replace the defensive coordinators that we haven't fired yet'?

The fact that the articles even exist seems fairly suggestive to me.

Your links prove what we all knew to begin with.

He says in there definitively there will be changes and before the bowl game. That is not the same thing as saying nothing. Next to the article is a list of pictures of coaches. Some leaving, some being interviewed. But apparently not being offered or just courtesy interviews.

And it is nothing at all like acknowledging interview and trotting out a list.

you mean here?

LSU may be making a change now, later or not at all.
“I’m not going to address other issues at this point,” Miles said. “I’m just going to operate from the premise that there are going to be some adjustments made, without question. First and foremost attitude, first and foremost to doing the right things. And I think that we will in the short term.”

Yes the media may have, but LSU didn't. That is what we are trying to explain to you.

Are you under the impression that Les Miles or the LSUID wrote this article?

Apparently in Rollie Fingers mind, LSU=The Advocate.

No they did not write them, but I bet someone at the Advocate checked with them before publishing the stories. If they did not want them printed, they would not be there.
