Still talking about Saban to Texas ehh? Yall realize that's only happening on this forum right? Texas forums are done with the subject.

They can't offer a ridiculous sum without having to go through the president and BOR to approve it. I don't see how y'all aren't getting that they aren't gonna pay more than $7-8 million on a coach. They're rich as hell, but they're still a state institution.

No. I get it. I agree with you. They're not gonna go absurd.

Saban won't leave for an extra million...no matter how LSU fans feel about the topic.

thatdude - no, never thought Coach Saban was going and still don't believe he would go to Texas.

My question had to do with the boosters who really wanted him, why not blow open the bank doors to get him? If they have all this cash sitting around collecting dust, why not entice Coach Saban (thru Sexton of course) with $15-$20 million a year?

If they really wanted to become the new Alabama in terms of NC, why not throw the bank at Coach Saban from the beginning?

I really think that the Dallas Cowboys should throw the bank at Nick Saban to bring the type of play that brought them back to prominence in the 90s: strong defense, dominant line play which created unstoppable run-attack, and a prolific passer with two go-to receivers and an outstanding tight end.

Because they'd have to explain to the board why they are suddenly tripling their already multi-million dollar coaching staff budget on one guy who has snubbed them publicly.

Also it would be ill-advised to give Saban under the table money through "backers" because that would be a blatant offense to NCAA rules. Meaning their new $15 million dollar hire would put the entire program in jeopardy by stepping foot on campus day one.

why does texas have to outbid by a significant amount? Texas does not have income tax. I have yet to read that anywhere on any of these threads.

and again, i could not care less if he moves or stays. just throwing it out there.

Considering he's getting two pay raises per year now, he'll reach the $15-$20 million level within 5 years from Bama.

I don't think even Saban, as much of a low life extortionist as he is, would leave Alabama this year after this past week.

Talked to my guy this morning and he's not shocked at all. The pressure was on saban Friday hard and now with him agreeing to an extension, it's not.

He doesn't understand however why UT boosters bought up that debt from those properties... Weird...

Letting this play out.. UT will offer nick saban an official offer and it will be for a lot of money.
