I’ve thought this a few times. But it’s a pipe dream.

Terri Saban approves. Their best friends are still LSU boosters--one of which literally saved his life. Bryant Denny vs Tiger Stadium? Come on it's easy. Plus Saban has stated his biggest mistake ever was leaving LSU. Recruiting? 1000x easier. Food? Better. No more cracked out rotten Bama fans with their entire identities based on a school they never went to's football team. Let's go. Also we can bring in Belichick as an admin kinda guy. Yall can chill together on the lake smoking hash

Would be epic. From the "F you Saban" chant to our Savior. God, I hate our fanbase

Tell me why truly? Saban has always said leaving LSU was his biggest mistake ever! What else does he have to prove at Alabama?

Why not?
1. $17mm Buyout to O
2. $35mm+ buyout for Saban
3. $10mm yr Saban pay
4. He’s not coming

So after year one we’d be about $62 million in the “hole”, so to speak. That’s assuming we’d pay all of O’s buyout at one time, which we’re not. Not sure how paying the buyout for Saban would be - all at once or spread out. Not sure.

But… how much money does a national championship usually bring to a school? What’s that revenue over the full season amount to, roughly? Assuming Saban would come here then retire after about 7 more years, it’s a safe assumption that LSU would win at least two, probably three more titles. Would it be worth it? Who knows.

Would Saban even come back? Probably not but I think for the right price he would at least consider it.

There are many different ways this can be played to hurt rival schools.

1. Make Saban say “no”. Please show me where Saban has actually agreed to a buyout for leaving Bama. Sexton finally agreed to that? If nothing else, make Bama break their bank to keep them.

2. Totally f with Aggie next. I’m not saying we want Jimbo— but watching them squirm in the first 1/3 of this season was fun. Make Aggie think we are willing to take Jimbo and they will pay him more, too.

3. Do the same at Ole Miss— IF you want Kiffin. Because it sounds like he wants this job.

But May I remind you— SW pulled Mulkey from Baylor. Who’s to say SW can’t do it again in Football.

If Saban ISN’T a “Legacy Hire” by anyone’s standards, I don’t know what is. It would certainly be a financial shot in the athletic department’s arm and the city of BR.

Probably won’t happen, but I can dream and have high standards.

4. I’ll take James Franklin or Riley— IF Roley hired a DC worth a damn.

Because he’s been in TS 7 times since 2008 and been greeted with “FU” every single one

He has nothing left to prove and gains nothing by leaving Tuscaloosa to come to Baton Rouge. He has everything he could ever need where he is. This is his last stop. Why in the world would he leave to go to Baton Rouge and be constantly scrutinized and pressured to replicate what he created at Bama? His next stop is retirement.

Even if Saban were an option, he turns 70 this year. How long does he realistically have left as a coach?
