Solid point but I think people like bc of his love for Lsu and the fact that he seems to be a great manager of the players and more importantly of the coaches

The fact that people wamt to give the job to a 55 year old dline coach just bevaue he sounds like half of them is telling

Well that and he's done a great job since taking over.

I don't think he should be HC, but be honest with your arguments

Seems like a pretty strong thing to consider when hiring a HC

Jimbo is proven. He's proven that he can't play a season w/o Winston and not lose 3-4 games.

Makes sense to dock a guy for winning with a player that he recruited and developed.

Oh, and that is still not correct. See 2012

See EVERY other year of his career, lotta 3 and 4 loss teams - in the ACC.

Would be an awesome hire.

You know who else is an absolute top shelf X and O defensive coordinator? Derrick Mason. How is he looking as a head coach right now? Intelligence and X and O acumen are not the only things that make a successful head coach.

Mason might end up making more money as a DC somewhere than he is currently getting as Vandy's head coach, because you can bet your arse there will be a bidding war among P5 programs to land him if/when Vandy turns him loose. He just isn't P5 head coach material.

Aranda MAY be the next Saban. Or he may be the next Mason. I think it likely he falls somewhere in between. LSU just isn't the right program to find that out.

One must have a personality that matches head coaching position.

Please go to coach change board

You literally are vouching for a top 5 program to hire a guy who's literally never been a head coach before much less run a program , mouthbreather

LSU will not take a chance on someone with no head coaching experience. They don't want to end up like Florida with Muschamp or Georgia.

It's hit or miss. I could see keeping coach O if everything keeps going well this season and keeping Aranda as D.C/H.C in waiting if shite hits the fan with O in years to come.

What? He doesnt run the offense. In his 32 years of being a coachn he has never had an offensive position. He doesnt run the defense.
He has motivated.
Also, this helps with offense....

Mizzou= 111th rushing defense= 42 points
Ole Miss= 116th rushing defense= 38 points
Arky= 106th rushing defense= 38 points
Bama=1st rushing defense= 0 points

There's no doubt he's an excellent DC. But why does that make him HC material? How's his recruiting? I haven't seen any recruits rave about him. He may be a great recruiter but do we know? Does he WANT to be HC now?
