There is a large faction up here who wanted him and still want him. You guys are lucky to have him. We all thought we wanted a change when Lloyd retired, and boy did we sure get one. A once proud program that is now the laughing stock of not just the Big 10, but every team in the nation. Being beat by bottom of the barrel big 10 teams. having back to back losing seasons. Probably missing a bowl game for the second year in a row. Last in the Big 10 in the first time in who knows how long. LSU lost to Florida and Alabama the two best teams in the nation it's not like they're being blown out by crap teams like we are. I wish I could be in your position right now.

Harbaugh had made public comments when he got the Stanford gig about Michigan lowering it's academic standards to get less academically but more athletically talented people on the team. It pissed off the administration here because we hold ourselves to a standard of excellence in academics. and pissed off alumni for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the Harbaugh piss off. Don't you think it is probably true.

Couldn't tell you if it is or not. The point is even if it's true you don't shite on your alma mater just to gain respect at your current job. FWIW if he apologized I wouldn't care if he was our head coach as long as we are winning.

And LSU fans are too stupid to realize what we have. They have bought the line that everything that we have is because of Saban, and that just is not true. But, Miles will leave and we'll bungle the search for the new coach and end up with someone that is not his caliber. Then, in about 3 years, we'll realize the mistake and regret it. By then it will be too late.

I do not trust Joe Alleva, our AD, to get a coaching hire right at this point.

As long as Skip and O'Keefe have nothing to do with it I'm good. Lombardi will hold Aleva's hand.

I really believe that fans put way too much weight on the value of coaching at one's Alma mater. Remember, this is their job - their LIFE. a head coach would be silly not to soberly consider all the aspects of a program. And the truth is that right now and for the forseeable future LSU is better positioned to win it all AND willing to pay more. I don't believe that the lure of the "Alma mater" is nearly enough to overcome that for a professional coach. Maybe for a fan, but nit for a coach.
