I would take O with the right OC(Kiffin?).
God I hate it when people bring up Kiffin here for OC. If Kiffen EVER leaves Bama, it will be for another HC job. I don't understand why anyone would think anything different. The dude just won a NC there.

Good thing for Jimbo is he's good at what's he supposed to be good at.

What gets you fired is when your side of the ball blows goats.

Les Miles- Offensive coach; O-Line focused

Jimbo- Offensive coach; QB focused

Les: No comment on offensive results; 5 O-lineman drafted that he recruited/developed (counting Collins)

Jimbo: Consistent offensive output; 4 1st round QBs drafted

5 O-lineman play vs. 1 QB to state the obvious.

Jimbo losing big right now and lost huge against Louisville. I'll pass on especially considering it's NC. I hope we don't make that mistake.
Besides Herman, name me a HC you would rather have than Jimbo that we realistically have a shot at.

Jimbo's situation reminds me of Sean Payton's with the Saints.

JIMBO SUX

hasn't won any division (4) or conference titles (3) or nattys (1)

cannot develop QB's. Fn sux arse.

ONLY won the sec west every other year he coached at LSU

01, 03 and 05. Miles was winning west every other year since 1-9 right?

Honestly, with Aranda already in place, Jimbo would be a great fit. Herman would be great too. With everything LSU has to offer, anything less than one of these two is going to be a disappointment. I guess the one good thing is that whoever you get will do better than what Miles was doing.

Better resume or what I think is a better coach?

Two different things: better resume there might not be one, who I think would do better, that could be a few i.e. Petrino, Fuente, Whittingham, Dabo (LSU could get him but if Bama wants him he go there)

Jimbo would be top 10 hire but not the best LSU could do imo.

Jimbo seems to lose with far superior talent sometimes. I think he would recruit about the same as Miles, but possibly fill needs better. I think he would be an upgrade, but not way better.

Herman
Fuente
Petrino
Whittingham
Sweeney

Jimbo

It's all in everyone's opinion who they think would be the best and I respect others opinion, I just so happen to think Jimbo isn't the best option.

Fuente
He went 26-23 at Memphis. Dude...

Whittingham
He's a defensive guy. I think he's a decent option down the line, but nothing tells me he's a better option than Jimbo.
quote:

Sweeney
He may be a good coach, but he would not be a good hire because he would bolt for Bama the first chance he got. Then that would be the second time that happened to us. No way he's an option. I also don't think he would come here.

Petrino
I would not disagree here. But I question a Petrino hire considering his shenanigans.

Based on the options you gave me, Jimbo is still not a bad hire. I could not see anyone wanting to hire Fuente or Whittingham over Jimbo.

Based on what you gave me he's at least top 5. I think he's number 2 with number one probably going to Texas.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that Jimbo will be LSU's next HC.

Jimbo Probably mailed it in because he knows he is coming to LSU.

I doubt it. If he was into blowing goats he would have taken the Auburn DC job when Gus offered.
