Why is Scottie Hazelton a name to watch?

Is it just because he coached with Kiffin at USC? (I believe 1 year only overlapped)
Wake Forest defense is absolutely killing it. Do we consider the MSU defense Hazelton led an anomaly? Is it because Mel Tucker was the HC then and most likely had a role in the defense. Seems like a risky hire and believe we could do better. I would love to be proven wrong.
