Guess the model of surrounding O with elite coordinators was bullshite.

He sounds like he's a grinder and a good coach at several different stops. Seems like I read that he doesn't have a family, so this will be his primary focus. I don't care if he's coming from another college program or the NFL. It used to be that the NFL game was different, but the lines have blurred so it's not like he's not prepared for what he would see in the SEC.

The fact is no one knows who would be a good hire.

That’s great, but LSU shouldn’t be a training ground for coordinators. LSU should be hiring someone actually in demand. Does anyone actually think zimmer will pull a Payton and block this hire?

Exactly! I don't know any more than anyone else on here. I can tell you that I've been coaching high school football for the past 9 years at four different schools and sometimes you just don't mesh well with the boss. I have one year as a defensive coordinator and I was lucky enough to have some good kids and we had one of the top 10 most improved defenses in the state of Texas that year. I left and went to a bigger school and the head coach didn't like that style of defense. I didn't like his style of defense so I left.

Like it or not, O is the boss and he's going to hire someone that he meshes well with and runs a system that he's comfortable with.

If this past seasons trajectory is any indication, Orgeron won’t see the 2023 season. This shrimp boat is headed to port.

Are we at a point where elite CFB guys want nothing to do with us?

Evidently we have to hire a psychiatrist that knows something about defense now from the comments I have seen on here recently.

Honestly I dont think this guy is bad but would need some major position coach help on the front 7.
