While that's true, the same can be said for the other candidates. Kansas State and Notre Dame wouldn't have had a shot if Oregon and Alabama had taken care of business. Kansas State and Notre Dame were not two of the best teams in the country. Stanford showed that they had an answer for Oregon. Oregon's loss wasn't a fluke. That's enough. I'm not even going to get started. All teams catch breaks and need help in some form, even if they go undefeated.
