Why is Dan Mullen so underrated?

On this board, he gets no credit for recruiting and coaching up Dak Prescott when other programs didn't want him as a QB.
I think he would be a great fit at Penn ST (he's from PA) and LSU.
I see Texas hiring a "Texas guy" this time around.

What about before Dak? he is an Urban Meyer disciple stuck in Starkville.. He is more proven than Tom Herman, who has never recruited a HS QB and seen him through like Mullen has...

He's about to go 4-8 so that's not gonna look great for anybody hiring him this offseason.

He's beaten Ark 4x, Auburn3x, OM 3x, LSU (@ home!!!), and A&M once. The only west team he hasn't beaten is Bama.
I guarantee Les Miles couldn't do that at Miss St. I know Coach O couldn't.
Mullen has had 6 winning seasons out of 7.
Miss St had just 6 winning seasons in the previous 17 years before him. The man can coach.
How exactly do you people measure success at a place like Miss St?

I agree he's underrated. He had Mississippi State undefeated and ranked #1 for multiple weeks late in a season. That's not exactly easy to do there.

Do you want the real reason or the one that fits your narrative?
The real reason is because he is already pushing 5 million a year at MSU. Very few schools who would be willing to pay that much have been searching for a coach.
