I think you already know that answer! I personally think it would be unfair and a huge embarrassment to me if I was used as a pond or token just for the sake of it...that in my opinion is what is wrong with this...

well don't you think that it is beneficial to get your name out there as someone who was considered and was interviewed for a big program, even if they don't end up hiring you? that is the point of it, maybe they know they won't hire someone, but at least do the interview and get the guy's name in circulation for other jobs available.

Bash me, if you like, but I think that gr8 stated a very intelligent question. Why is it that if a predominately white college doesn't interview a black, then they are automatically labeled racist? Meanwhile, when a black university doesn't interview or hire a white, nothing is said about this. Years ago, I taught in an all black school with a black administrator. All of us whites were treated like crap. In case you people are too stupid to realize it, prejudice is alive and well in all races. My biggest beef was when a highly educated black spoke and acted intelligent, their own race labled them as "trying to be white." I think that racism is worse today then it was 20 years ago. I'm just stating that mankind will find something to hate, be it religion, race, culture etc.
