Because Orgeron has never lost to bad teams as the head coach of a program.

And Sammy I don't think I can disagree with you. But would he replace Aranda for his guy? aranda is the best DC in the college football right now. His conections in Texas I like and the fact that his scheme would keep Saban up late preparing for compared to our prior schemes. I just don't want to sacrifice our identity which is defense for better offense. At least I know Jimbo would retain Aranda and if leaves for a HC gig, he would go out and hire the best DC Bc LSU pumps assets into their assistant coaches.

He also left Southern Miss in shambles. Two different coaches won a total of ONE game in two years. Don't tell me Todd Monken was a bad coach. Secondly, how many ranked teams did he beat winning that division? Mind you he lost to the worst south Carolina team in ten years. Fast forward to this year. he's played one ranked team in fsu and won on a 56 yard fg. he lost to the worst Georgia team in 10 years. Not to mention that juggernaut know as Duke. Average coach at best.

While he didn't leave USM on the best of terms it was Ellis Johnson that doomed the program from the start. His complete apathy towards strength and conditioning programs as well as the fact that he didn't recruit at al while on campus was the major factor. Combine those 2 things with him losing the team during fall camp is why USM sucked dick for 2 years. My only complaint with Fedora was he over relied on juco talent so instead of building a foundation he had teams that were good immediately but not built to sustain the success.

He also beat Miami when they were playing well at the same pitt team that beat Clemson. Yeah he has had a few stinkers through this career but I would argue overall he has succeeded expectations everywhere he has been.

He doesn't have a guy when it comes to defense. Chizik was the best hire he could afford. Given the open wallet LSU would give him I guarantee he would either keep Aranda or make a homerun replacement.

Good point. I just have a hard time of getting over the 2013-2014 meh seasons. But I certainly see your point. Some of it from me is I might have an unfair bais Against him.

He shouldn't be the number one candidate. But if he is the backup plan I feel good going forward.

I hope the PTB at LSU have the same thoughts on Fedora. Yes I'm biased, but what he has done for UNC's football program through the most crap you could think about dealing with impresses me. We had never won our division since the ACC created them until Fedora came, and we've won it twice in four years and have a chance for a third this year. All that despite being faced with scholarship reductions, unfriendly local media, and lingering investigations that allow opposing coaches to negatively recruit by assuring our prospects that we're getting the death penalty. He knows how to run a program and it blows my mind that LSU fans are starving for an offense that can put up points yet hate the idea of Fedora as HC. LSU can and may do much worse when the dust settles on this hire. If what we're told is correct, Fedora won't be an option anyway. Word is he and his family are happy in Chapel Hill and we have money too. Good luck in your search and hope whoever you land can put some heat on Saban.

I would take Fedora in a heart beat. The ones who want Orgeron are ignorant.
But at the same time, if I lived in a state like North Carolina it would be hard for me to leave to go to Louisiana unless they close to doubled pay

Hanagriff said that if Fedora is hired, a lot of shite would have to go wrong.
