Why does Venables never get mentioned?

I'm not saying he should be an option for LSU, because I want someone with HC experience. My question is just more a hypothetical regarding him as a coach.
We've seen plenty of elite coordinators get HC jobs and he is clearly one of the best OC/DC in the country, but I never see him mentioned for any HC vacancies. Just curious why?
Truthfully, I don't know much about the guy other than his stint as DC for Clemson. But his defense is consistently a top 10 defense and they are obviously well coached. Is there some off the field stuff, I'm not aware of?

Hasn't he made it quite clear has has zero interest in a head coaches position? I think he's gone some offers from big programs

Apparently both he and Stoops had some questionable coaching/motivation techniques while they were at OU.
