This program has everything the best of the best facilities, recruiting grounds, stadium, fans? I just don’t understand why we can’t get the best? Saban was a great hire but who would have dreamt he would be what he was!

Years of not having one hell of you think about it Saban was like 28-21 record at Michigan St he was just a diamond in the rough we found he wasn’t that sought after back then

Except for the national championship year, Saban lost 3 or more games every season, including his last.

If Saban was a diamond in the rough then LSU was the rough

LSU was not what it is right now back then. Shitty facilities, terrible program building, and hardly any long term tradition of success. We’ve come very far from that luckily but comparing the job in 2021 to 1999 is silly

1st year expected rebuild, not unlike Bama 5 loss 1st season

2nd year SEC champions, hopefully you’ll forgive the 3 losses and the BCS bowl win

3rd year rough opener loss VA Tech, still doubt the clip on Domanick Davis punt return. If we don’t lose Mauck in Florida route, that 5 loss season might have been another SEC championship or better

4th year Natty

5th year 3 losses but Saban was in NFL mode by then.

Thanks for the recap chief. I lived it. And people were extremely pissed off at Saban for his annual flubs. No one wanted him to leave, but Saban then was not Saban now.

And he inherited a lot of talent. DiNardo recruited well, just made shitty coordinator hires. It wasn't a major rebuild, as evidenced by the SEC title in year 2 with DiNardo's talent.
