If you were building a company would you hire: Candidate 1 - No company loyalty and would rather be somewhere else and probably gone in a few years but would bring specific needed expertise to the company. Candidate 2- Loves your company. A hard and tireless worker and would do a good job but not as bright as Candidate 1.

Answer it yourself. Would you rather Saban or Miles?

what about candidate 3? great hire, loves your company, would be loved by the company, great fit, but will cost you more than you really wish to spend.

I would hire candidate 1 and have enough confidence in my company to believe that once he got here, he wouldn't want to leave.

How do you know candidate 1 would rather be elsewhere? It's more likely that Texas will be an open job within the next year so if he wants it that bad then wouldn't he just stay at UH for another year? Furthermore why wouldn't he put his all into LSU? as a coach you want to be known as great. He'd work just as hard here than anywhere.

He could easily grow to love LSU. Who would've thought that Les would turn down his alma mater to stay at LSU? He grew to love this place.

Don't ever underestimate the love a coach has for the school that gave him his first real shot.
