Ole Miss has a great setup in terms of NIL, support staff, leadership, investment etc.

Auburn has more NIL money, way better facilities, etc. Auburn’s HCs have never had to go in front of the media and beg for money like Kiffin did with old piss.

Who does LSU get when we don’t get Kiffin? Will the fanbase accept Sumrall? Roadgator says Kiffin to Florida is on schedule as planned. Turnkey must be worth their weight in gold .

It’s interesting that Sumrall seems to be waiting to see what happens to the Ole Miss job before taking the Auburn job. Has the national perception of the Auburn job taken a nose dive or has the Ole Miss job risen that high?

10 years ago nobody would have waited on the Ole Miss job to decide on the Auburn gig. Hell, they wouldn’t have 5 years ago. Easy to forget with as much credit as Cam gets for that ‘10 NC team, and easy to get overlooked in between all of Saban’s NCs at Bama, but Auburn was a miraculous 1 minute and some change drive by Jameis and Florida State from winning 2 NCs in 4 seasons right at the peak of Saban’s dynasty. And under 2 different HCs in Chizick and Gus.

Maybe it’s more Auburn’s descent and inability to compete in college football’s new landscape. But history says you can win there and win big. But if it’s more that Ole Miss has risen so much under Lane the past 6 seasons to where he may be seriously torn, then he’s literally a victim of his own success. And it shows just how much the right hire matters today more than ever before. Or maybe it’s more the wrong one does, just in the other direction.

It could be that Sumrall is a decent and honorable guy and doesn’t want to walk on Tulane when he has worked them into position to win a conference championship and get in the CFP.
