Where will Aranda end up being HC?

As much as this hurts, I say it's Texas A&M.
Too big of an opportunity for them to pass up.

He's not going anywhere this year imo. I think top Power 5 programs are a couple of seasons away from taking a chance on him. I could see mid level programs come calling, but I think he holds out here.

I'm a self-proclaimed distant descendent of Nostradamus, I can see these things.

Aranda has a couple more years at a big 5 school proving his ability to be consistent as a coordinator. No one is jumping on him as a head coach as only a 4 year assistant. If he wants to coach at Western Monmouth State or something maybe, but he's not there yet. He's on the right track. Heck, if his rep grows in the next couple of years, and the coach LSU hires bombs, he could be next in line. The other possibility is the he heads to Texas with his buddy if Herman gets the job at Texas.

Lulz. He has proven himself. He will be a HC this year.
ETA:
Could be Boise State too if Harsin leaves.

This is the general consensus among LSU fans. But ask any of the teams that get pummeled by our defense this year and I guarantee they'll have a different perspective. Especially considering Aranda did this on his own abilities.
Why A&M?
-They get to steal our only proven coach
-They get to recruit players Aranda has built relationships with.
-They weaken our team which is about to win 6 straight
-They get the best defensive mind in the country.
-They get him at a value because everyone else wants to wait an extra year.
It's just idiocricy that we're going to let this guy get away.

Seriously, if Alleva ends up giving O the HC job over Aranda; I'm going to lose it. Herman or Jimbo I'm good with.

What has Aranda done to deserve the job more than Coach O? Orgeron has at least proved he can be a HC. You guys keep talking about his time at Ole Miss. But what about Bellichek's time in Cleveland? Or how about Carroll's time in New York? Better even, what about Tedford who went from great OC to nothing and Davie who went from great DC to nothing back to middle of the group.
ETA:
Could add Kingsbury to the list of why not give Aranda the gig over O also.

Like many have said, without Aranda we're not talking O.

Where are his closest recruiting connections? Does he recruit?

And how has that proven that he is HC material? I want to keep him on staff, of course. But in no way has he shown he should be HC here. As far as without Aranda, how do we know that O would not have done the same?

Has he ever mentioned wanting to be a HC?
Why do you people just assume he's leaving? Is it because he's had a good year??? If so, wasn't that the reason he was hired? Because he's great at what he does?
Some great coordinators do not want to be a HC(i.e. Chief). Aranda signed a contract, there's no reason to assume he would leave after his first year.
I love how so many people on here voluntarily exert their ignorance.

By this you mean Orgeron has accepted an appointment to be head coach, once at Ole Miss. And failed badly.
There are no other major schools interested in hiring Orgeron as their head coach. Unless he goes to a midmajor or Vanderbilt level power five school he will not be hired again.
Aranda is the opposite. He is a guy who clearly makes a difference on his teams and will get the chance to be a head coach at a real school in the near future.
This isn't really in the category of the arguable. Someone will do what OU did with Stoops, FSU did with Fisher, or UGA did with Smart and hire a well respected coordinator to be their head coach. There is no damn reason or logic in Aranda going somewhere like Boise State with where he is sitting right now.

He wants to be a head coach. Jimmy Ott confirmed this on sports today radio.

He has made comments to friends and he negotiated a clause in his LSU contract that allows him to leave with no buy out if he is hired as a HEAD coach by another school. This shows he is interested and willing to potentially leave immediately for the right opportunity.

I could see Boise or Houston pulling the trigger on him if the job is open.

Recruiting is similar to a freight train. Once a school gets momentum from whatever sources they are drawing from, it's hard to slow down. Given his accomplishments, it only adds fuel.

The only way the HC job should be offered to O is if Jimbo and Herman turn it down and we have Aranda locked in as a HC in waiting. If we give the keys to O and Aranda leaves the program will unravel within 3-5 years.
