Where do coaching leaks come from

Remember, 99% of leaks come from agents with an agenda.
Could be to improve existing contract at current school by making coach seem very marketable to others.
Could be to force a new school to move too fast (and higher) to win their services thinking others have a bead on them.
There are many reasons but leaks are always intentional you just have to figure out the why.

How is it a leak when people just saw the flight path?

Absolutely this agent is working hard to get Lane a huge contract

Everyone knows someone. I know someone who actually might have an inside track on the hire, and I'm a no name.
I'm not going to ask about it, and I would never expect them to tell me. But I'd imagine some people aren't that respectful of boundaries. Some may even get told BS to shut them up.
Other leaks might be intentional.
Lots of ways a leak can happen.

I'm nobody.
I'm sure a lot of people on this board are 1-2 orders away from someone on the BOS, governor, coaching staff, etc.
Louisiana is a small place.

Money is not a motive in Kiffins case. He already has a blank check from Ole Miss. they will match any offers. Yall are missing the point. He’s leaving

They come out of people's rear ends!

You say money but think about it. Agents use leaks to get leverage. Leverage may not be just about money but contract terms.
Now look at how LSU fired Kelly and are trying to change to “for cause”.
What if Lane wants a contract that says he gets 100% of payout regardless of cause. Unless its a major crime.
Or what if he wants 10 years ironclad?
LSU hurt themselves by how they handled Kelly. And now you have 3 suitors for Lane. Leaks can help drove his contract terms. He could add in assistant pay terms at a high guaranteed cost too. Meaning he could coax an OC or DC to by telling them their contract is guaranteed for 3 or 5 years.
There are many terms to be decided not just pay.
