He and orgeron on the same staff would be awesome.

If he gets another HC gig, it'll be at a non-AQ school or a really low tier BCS school (Big East leftover or ACC afterthought).

He has two major problems -- he left two SEC football programs in shambles and his ego has him convinced he can still get a great job. He's even talked about how he's waiting for "the right opportunity" to come along ala Tommy Bowden last year.

LOL, I think that bridge is burned.

Ironically (or not), Nutt is the last Boise head coach to have a losing record (went 4-7 in 1997 before we hired him).

I remember reading some stuff at the time and later on about how Boise players basically panned him as a used car salesman. Too bad it took our state media a decade to figure that one out.

If Boise chooses Harsin I think there'll be a big push for Hootie in Jboro.

Nutt takes over at LSU when Miles bolts to Texas.

did he leave Arkansas in shambles? Y'all beat us, and we won the NC, in his last game and I think y'all were the defending SEC West Champs.

Going 8-4 in 2007 -- especially the win over LSU -- was fools gold.

He had essentially taken two years off from recruiting, and our roster was top heavy with guys we were losing after the 2007 season to the draft or graduation (McFadden, Felix, Hillis and others) and the way the Malzahn/Springdale situation panned out seriously damaged the program.

The roster he left Petrino was godawful, and there was a horrendous fracture in the fan base between his fanboys, Gus' fanboys, and those of us who didn't like either of them. Petrino was/is a heck of a coach and it still took him 3 years to rebuild the roster and get us back on solid footing. What's ironic is that Petrino essentially did the same thing, and the rosters he left were fricking terrible, hence the reason we've played so many underclassmen the last two years.

We beat y'all in 2007 for two reasons: y'all were majorly overlooking us in anticipation of the SEC and BCS title games, and Nutt fired the team up in oregano by telling them he was getting canned.

After Saban goes to Texas and Miles goes to Bama. LSU will hire a triumvirate of Petrino, Nutt and Orgeron.

Sun Belt school or lower C-USA school. But you'd have to give him a good budget for a staff of recruiters.

I think it goes something like Saban to Texas, Miles to UA, and Nutt to LSU.

Wasnt it in the news a few weeks ago that houston nutt was questioning people about the recruiting landscape for uconn? He was reportedly interested in coaching there. Idk what uconns coaching situation is like but for some reason he was interested in that school.

He was always destined for LSU, starting with Saban's recommendation of him as successor.

I believe that Nutt's interest in U Conn is unrequited.
They just got rid of a retread coach, there's no way they'd hire another with the same profile.

Nutt could certainly be a good coach somewhere. I didn't think he left Arkansas in shambles, either. Miss, however, not sure what the hell happened there

Maybe he ends up at Arkansas State if there coach goes to Boise. THe indians might want a coach he won't leave after 1 season. Nutt would be the 5th coach in five years.
