if Arnett is smart, he will stay away from the Big 12. he should know that Texas will very easily hurt his career. if he leaves State I would expect him to stay in the SEC

It is all over the place. One pay site had him their #2 behind Dan Quinn (who is staying in the NFL it looks like) another is saying that they have been in contact but nothing major.

That being said, it is looking more and more like the Texas sites really are shooting in the dark on the staff hires and nobody has an inside track on real info. The information between the various major sites are pretty much is all over the place and they keep making hires that no one was talking about and then all of a sudden the university leaks a hiring and they all sorta backtrack.

If that’s the case, we need to have our hire wrapped up before they have an opening. They may wait to see what happens with Pruitt, but you don’t want to go head to head with them on a DC hire.

We should snag Arnett while there is still a chance. He would be a great get because we would have him for 2-3 years before he could secure a HC job. Very energetic and bright mind who, like many other we have seen, is on the rise to the top.

LSU isn't exactly a hot destination right now. O is one bad season away from losing his job. Arnett has job security + a nice pay in Starkville.

The guy that is hot today may not be hot tomorrow.

Not exactly like State picked up a great D Class this year. Your are going to really miss Thompson.

Okay. And the pirate is like 2. Not like he set the world on fire his first season and didn’t have a good recruiting class to make things better either.

Tell me how did Orgeron do as a HC at Ole Miss?! That is the exact same situation you are saying that recruiting at MSU is at the same level with LSU? You got to be kidding me!

This seems absolutely correct.

I think Quinn will get an NFL job and stay there. There really hasn't been any buzz on Arnett for a week or so now. My guess is that it's Golding and just keeping all the leaks down until after the NCG.

The golding stuff makes sense

He can move on from alabama and not get fired.

Saban can get someone better and sark can grab golding.

What's the backstory with arnett? Texas contacted him a week ago and he wasn't interested?

I think your reading comprehension could use some work.

First off, what does O's time at Ole Miss have to do with anything I said?

Second, I never said that MSU's level of recruiting is at the same level of LSU.

My point, breaking it down for you further, is that the OP I was responding too asked why would Arnett go to LSU when LSU is on fire and O has probably 1 year left. What I stated is that it is not like he is any safer at MSU where based on Leech's performance this year and how badly he is doing in recruiting (currently #34 overall & 10th in SEC), he is headed towards being fired after year 3.

Was Orgeron recruiting at the LSU level at Ole Miss when he was the HC there? That is why he was saying it is harder to get top recruits to go to Mississippi State and Ole Miss! Dan Mullen Couldn't recruit well at MSU but is doing a lot better at Florida!
