What would Monte Kiffin tell Lane to do?

Lane said he wished he could still ask his old man what to do.
I don't know a great deal about Monte other then how badass hisTampa 2 Defense was.
For those that knew more about him what advice would he give his son?

Stay. It’s easily the most logical choice not just for him but his family.

Nah, you are the retard for thinking it makes any sense to leave for LSU. He’s just playing us.

What any father tells their kid with such a question. Follow your heart, do what makes you happy.

As a Father of a 23 yr old son, and having lived much of my life worried about what others think, I would ask God, Family, and an unbiased professional in the same field, then decide. F the other coaches, players, bosses, media… in a matter of time, none of them matter at all. Ask good questions and decide.

In the Thanksgiving kids table picture that was posted there was a wall hanging that said “home is where football is” and had something like 10 different cities/teams underneath it. Take that for what it’s worth on what Monte would say.

As a father, I believe the right way to go about that is to put the question to your child and ask them…” what are you trying to accomplish? What are your goals?” The way that he answers that question would determine the guidance that the father gives… you can’t tell someone what to do… They have to make that decision for themselves… But you can certainly help to guide them through the decision-making process by making sure that they’re focusing on the right things…

First off, ignore anyone in the media who is telling you what you should do. Not a damn one of them will be invested in your life beyond the decision.
Otherwise, our lives are short; we are here for a brief moment. How and why do you want to live your life? Follow your heart. What path presents you with an opportunity to look back on your life many moons from now and think “I did that! I lived life on my terms. I never allowed comfort to govern how and why I existed in the world. I leaned into discomfort, into all challenges, in pursuit of a life well-lived, in pursuit of excellence.” Maybe… :)
