I am glad he is staying but am just wondering what people may have heard the contract amount and years will be. With all of the people here who had such great sources this week I am sure some of you are in on the negotiations, right?

I know what the details of it, but its actually changing now...Basically his original contract goes into effect again but he's extended 5 years with a 2 year extension guaranteed.

Original contract clause:
Win Sec--Become 3rd Highest paid Coach in SEC
Win Natl Champ--Become 3rd Highest paid coach in NCAA

Therefore still kind of depends but ^^^^ is the facts.

It sounded yesterday like they worked out an entirely new deal...not dependent on winning either the SEC or MNC.

they were still allowing those clauses...So basically he's goign to get more now than what the new deal was because he won yesterday.

One of the guys on TV last night said it could be a 30 million dollar deal. So if it is at 3 million a year then it would be 10 years. That is a long contract, which would pretty much put him here for good. I'm assuming the buyout will go up as well with that much money on the table.

it will work out that way...but there is no clause saying 3.0 mil. The clauses were as I stated above.

These were as of 06 but feel free to go through it...

The article in the advocate today says that he will go from 1.8 to 2.5 million for winning SEC. If he wins NC it will be more.

omg people...

Stop...I'M TELLING YOU WHAT IT IS...quit making up crap or stating things that you've read...

its a 5 year deal with a 2 year extension but the extension is guaranteed so basically in essence a 7 year deal...

For winning SEC he will make 1 dollar more than the current 3rd highest one (Will be tubberville when his new deal is established whereever he will be)

If he wins Natl Champ it will be more, It will be 1 dollar more than the 3rd highest paid in NCAA.

I would think Les would get the same deal Nick got. Didn't Nick get $1 more then the highest paid coach in college if he won the NC, which he did?

Regardless, Miles is getting paid a ton of money.

After the stand that Coach took for this team and this school.... I think that he certainly deserves to get the $1 more than highest NCAA salary.

first--because it is $aban!! and Les deserves more for doing the right thing that $aban does for being a self-serving arse!!

second-- I don't ever want any school to be able to tell Les he would be more appreciated than he is at LSU!

All men who want the love and admiration of any woman should take a look at the way Les Miles conducts himself and make a pattern to live by!! He is a MAN!!!!

THAT'S the word from ME!!
