I have heard is has something to do with recruiting but I heard four host mention today taht Carr hates Miles and if he has input they will not give him an offer. Two guys on Sirius didn't think Michigan would really make an offer that would be acceptable ans said a lot of key alumini hate Miles too. (CAN"T remember the host names) 12-2 pm todayI have never known anyone to hate "les" and he is one of nicest guys I know in College football would doesn't really reward being a decent guy, (EXAMPLE SABAN, SPURRIER ET AL)

Does anyone know the story behind this?

Miles left Michigan when Carr got the head job (so I've heard) and then Miles stole Michigan verbal commitment Jai Eugene two years ago. Even Bo called Les on that and said he disapproved (once again that has been said).

Les left Michigan when Gary Moeller was fired because he didn't want to be Carr's assistant.

Thanks guys, that helps but why didn't he want to be Carr's assistant? Sounds like they had run in before Carr ever got there to me.

I don't know that he didn't want to work for Carr. I think he was offered the OC job at Okie State and took it rather than be the OL coach at Michigan.

One would have to assume that Jai did not commit to Michigan 9 months before changing his mind. I would guess that he knew about his upcoming child when he committed to UM in the first place.

Wasn't he the OL coach at Dallas before even dealing with Okie State I don't know that's why I'm asking

He was OC at Okie State, then tight ends coach at Dallas, then HC at Okie State.

I hate this bullshite about Miles stealing a Louisiana boy from Michigan. frick Michigan for trying to come into our backyard and take one of our five star recruits. Jai was ranked as the number 1 overall CB in 2006. LSU should never lose a kid like this.

The other thing that bothers me about Carr's "beef" is that is why he's out of touch with today's world of recruiting.

If the worst Miles did was call on the guy after he committed to MI, then that ain't nothing compared to the bullets fired out there on the recruiting trail today.

This ain't your father's gentlemanly game of recruiting any more. The world don't run according to Carr's rules. That's why he's done, and he knows it.

Miles once said after a big loss, not sure exactly which one, some time back, that Carr was not the right coach for Michigan to a reporter. Jai backed out of his commitment to Michigan after his son's birthday because he realized that he wanted to stay closer to home. I know Jai, and he loves his son very much. It had nothing to do with anything Miles did to change his mind.

Don't shoot the messenger, I was just stating what has been mentioned as part of the rift between the two.

i think it's the perception that miles is unconventional and willing to bend the rules while carr is as traditional and old school as they get. of course i'm pulling all of this out of my arse.

If you're up between 5:00 a.m - 8:00 a.m, you can listen to Rivals Radio on Sirius 123

Here is their website:
