Hmmm I don't know, maybe hire another coordinator?!?!?

Yes, but if you "blow the doors off an interview" and have this "great plan" that people are talking about, USUALLY this means specifics. That means that O should walk in, and give them lists of candidates for the next 7-8 years at least of potential OC and DC hires when Aranda and the OC eventually leave for head coaching jobs.

It also means, that HOPEFULLY he was able to communicate a plan for consistency despite the constant revolving door of MAJOR coaches. That's a big problem. It isn't as easy as...

LSU: Well Ed, when Aranda eventually leaves for a Head Coach job in 1-2 years, what is your plan?
Ed: [rips off shirt] HIRE ANOTHER COACH!

There is no way it should be that simple. He should have a list, with possible coaches and soft confirmations that they would be interested in coming. He should have a plan to build up position coaches over time and elevate them.

The problem: Ed is not cerebral. Ed is not a critical thinker, "Hire a new coach" was probably his answer and imo that isn't good enough.

If most of us are right, then we hired a fricking 1-2 year coach, because there is almost no chance Aranda stays for more than 2 years if he is THAT successful.

sir, the question is if O can make critical decisions on the field for LSU

Like Bobby Bowden?

If the guy can't keep a great staff in play -- it won't matter. Priority right now is to move an offense that can score easily against mediocre and weak defenses -- which was/is a huge improvement over Miles -- to an offense that can score against any defense.

So will he have the staff that will attract an elite QB and then develop him? Will he retain Aranda? Will he replace BDP? These will be his top priorities.

LSU will be the first program to pay it's coordinators more than its coach.

Can't you understand that the point is that O should have never been hired based off of those question marks?

I didn't know I was arguing for or against him, brah. I'm just making comments about the state of affairs.
