I dont know the first thing of coaching and identifying potential candidates, so what goes on during these DC conversations? Does the guy go in depth on his scheme and then apply it to the team's current/future personnel and how it would work? Maybe their daily routine and how they'd handle practice? Talk over recruiting strategies maybe?

I doubt Ed's asking 'greatest strengths and weaknesses' or 'where do you see yourself in 5 years'

You’re expecting an intelligent answer from t-rant...bless your heart. Apparently some here thinks O says “ra ra ra geaux tigers” and the coordinator flees because something something LSU disaster

Depends on whether or not the interviewee has a binder

But on a serious note, I know about smaller schools interview process like a Texas Tech or McNeese, and they usually go over scheme, play call history (determining why a certain play was called, what did they see etc), overall philosophy, and then if both parties are interested how the players fit a potential scheme

Edit: forgot to mention the process of teaching and whether or not certain methods are more successful than others. Best visualization is Brady and 10,000 catch offseason with WR core

thanks for the reply.

I try to compare it to some technical interviews I've had for jobs (comp sci background). Crazy to think of Ed O giving Arnett a scenario like red zone 3rdn7 facing 11 personnel, what play do you call

I don’t think it’s outrageous to think that’s what goes on for at least part of it. I understand ‘chalk board’ sessions are a major part of pre-draft interviews

Usually they have a sit down in Coach O’s office while Pomanksy brings the interviewee whatever beverage they like before he rubs their feet and tries to coax them into becoming a Tigah

Those are examples of really detailed oriented interviews in both track and field and football. It’s important to know every interview is different. My uncle is the track coach at Texas Tech and basically it was a “personal interview” where he and the AD got to know each other. But those interviews require whomever is hosting to do major homework.

I can only hope Coach O is throwing out these scenarios, questioning playcalls of plays that worked and didn’t, and most importantly asking questions about the teaching process (we seemed to have a major jap in that this past season)

I agree....there is no such thing. This is the dumbest football board anywhere.

Ed: Do you only run a 4-3?
DC: Of course not. That would be completely stupid in today’s college landscape.
