Is Butch coach until the end of the season? I see threads every week about him being fired and sources say x. Hasn't been true thus far. Is he at UT till at least the end of the season or no?

At this point, why would they not wait until the end of the season?

I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think they fire him till end of season just based on them keeping him this long

I don't know for sure, but I would say most likely. I don't think there is a viable option for an interim coach.

That's the bad news. The good news is I don't expect the coaching search to be a long one.

If we lost yesterday, a bowl would have basically been out of the question and I think a combination of fan/booster rage would have forced Currie to pull the trigger. Since we won, I wouldn't be surprised to see them keep him around. Florida's performance yesterday probably isn't going to motivate him to rush Butch out the door.

I want him gone as soon as possible, but I admit that's largely a personal issue, since I just don't want to have to see or hear him anymore.

A couple possible reasons:

1. The Kendrick situation may force his hand
2. Currie knows who he is going to hire, and he doesn't want to wait until December to make it official. I'm sure the early signing period is making some people in Knoxville uneasy.

I think back channels mean "no clue, just posting something to see if it sticks". They have been so accurate so far.
