ok so a DC can offer an official scholarship and have a kid accept it without the rest of the staff knowing?
a DB coach, even worse. Is Spurrier that damn lazy?

Hello, I'm a Carolina fan. I've read reports that stated Ron Cooper was asked to leave by Spurrier. That's the first I've heard of any friction between the two. IMO, Ron Cooper is an excellent coach and recruiter. He has always done a super job with our secondary and I hate to see him go. I believe you folks will like having him on Chavis's staff. You got a good coach.

what were the other reports that he was asked to believe saying as the reason if not friction?

Check this link out. It talks about the supposed friction between Cooper and Spurrier.
There seems to be a little element of The Visor rearranging the deck chairs. And an element of "he was never my guy, he was always Lou's guy" as well.

spurrier is on the hot seat. His antics are growing old for his coaches and his players. He has faded the past two years to the point of not even being competitive. It appears the players and coaches are quitiing on him.
After the u.s.c. game, i was riding back and caught the post game. Spurrier threw his o line, the o line coach, qb, all under the bus. said l.s.u didn't out scheme them in the second half. that didn't happen. he has to find lineman that can block and a qb that will throw the ball away.

The main knock on him is that he's a lazy recruiter.
These are the kids he's recruiting just this year:
Ronald Byrd
Jonathan Davis
Josh Dickerson
Steven Singleton
Tony Straughter
Kevious Watkins
Vinson Bass
Demond Dennis
Jalston Fowler
Brett Johnson
Jonathan Meeks
Jerell Miller
Malcolm Mitchell
Darren Myles
Robert Nelson
Anthony Orr
D.T. Shackelford
Enrique Williams
Dazme Woods
If you look back over the years, they all have a crazy # of recruits he's responsible for. Forgive me if I don't really buy into the lazy knock.

the real question here is, What is Lou Holtz going to think about LSU now?
I think this is what swings the delusional, demented Holtz to the purple and gold......
Now ESPN LUBS us, spit, spit.

Man, it really seems like Spurrier is just about done in SC. Everything is falling apart and he really hasn't been able to get his offense going at all while there...recruiting is average. And, he still doesn't seem to have a viable QB.
He's in trouble barring a miracle.
