Remember when he came in and immediately starting going after USC in the media? He's brash, young, and proven he can do it at Stanford better than Willingham could. As much as I'd hate to see if they'd be crazy to not hire him.

Harbaugh at USC would be scary.

I bet they have already done so. Wouldn't you? I also think Harbaugh has nfl aspirations so it would be temporary anyway.

could he replicate what PC did?

He runs the same type offense for the most part, and he ran it well with Elite academic first players. I don't know if he could have the same type run that Carroll had, but he could compete for the Pac 10 and Nat'l Titles every year. It'll be hard for anyone to duplicate Carroll's success there. Especially if sanctions come down.

what USC needs to do is hire a guinea pig on the cheap, get through the upcoming sanctions and other problems, and then go after a big name coach to bring the program back to glory. going to be a rough few years in LA.

I understand this, but where did it come from. I just said they probably already have and were probably told no because his next step is probably the nfl. I am sure they have put out feelers for the best coaches in the country. They can't leave any stone unturned, this is not a good time of the year to be looking for a coach. They need a replacement now.

exactly, which is why they wouldn't even ask or was the reason they were told no. Harbaugh will leave so why leave stanford then sc and break two hearts and seem more like an a-hole? Harbaugh will probably coach at stanford til andrew luck leaves school. He has some players there now who can help his resume. I think he rides that out temporarily.....

Probably why they're going thru all the pro retreads who aren't in the playoffs.
