I like the new negatiger lines these days. Miles is responsible for the bad offenses, but played no part in the good offenses of 2005-2007. Sounds like John Kerry.

It's not a negatiger line. It's a fact. I've been to practices. I've been to scrimmages. I've talked to people who get to go to practices much more often than I do. We all see the same thing, Miles in the offensive huddle with the clipboard in hand while crowton camo's himself in the group of other irrelevant people standing on the field onlooking.

Miles has reached his hand in the bread basket a little more each year. It's been a steady progression, and if you think about it, you can notice it.In 07 Crowton had a little more slack in his leash. Since then, for whatever reason, Miles has been all in when it comes to offensive philosophy, prep, and game management. He's slowly taking over and turning our offense into a 1970's big ten attack. Miles needs to be the one to go and I really hope Michigan calls him. I really think he's Michigans next coach and I can't wait

Interesting, you say we're going to an oldschool power run Big10 offense.. yet.. we run out of some odd quasi-spread the bulk of the time. We run out of the gun more than the I, etc.

Basically, you're wrong. Our offense has gotten more and more Crowton as the years go on.

If you are going to spout BS, at least make it logical. So Miles gave a brand new OC more control, and took it away after the offense had success? Yea, ok. Or you can look at Crowton's history as an OC elsewhere which looks EXACTLY like what has happened at LSU.

You are spouting illogical conspiracy theories when the pattern of obvious reality is much more logical. Crowton can do ok with other people's toys, but he is not good at continuously building offensive personnel or schemes.

Guys, ya'll can call me out for spitting BS all you want to. I understand that's what people on this site like to do. Fine. I'm in no way claiming that crowton is great. In fact, i do blame him for our lack of QB development. However, I know that with a new OC nothing would look any different. Maybe our formations would, but who cares. We're going to run when miles wants to run. We're going to throw a short pass when miles wants to throw a short pass. We don't spread it out any more now than we did in 07. Our formations are all similar. They're crowtons formations. Miles has his thumb on the guy and he'll have his thumb on the next guy. Maybe my description of a 1970's style was overboard in that our formations are different. But our philosophy is no different at all

Jesus, shut up.

If nothing else, Kragthorpe can come in here and give us some decent QB coaching. If Miles is going to be his own OC, then this is potentially what we need. What we have is not working.

I am preparing for the meltdown when Miles stays and Gary is our OC next season.

It will be Joe McKnight epic.

My inside sources tell me the other two are Norm Chow and Mike Leach.

So basically you admit the offense could be a completely different style but the head coach is still going to have input in to how much we run, throw, etc.

That isn't exactly unique to Miles/LSU...is it?

Is Leach in the mix Belowpar? I only ask because I promised him fresh stone crabs in Baton Rouge every weekend and I need to know whether I have to follow through on this.

I don't dispute the fact that Miles is more involved in the offense this year. It just seems to me that many people forget we had some very good offenses under Miles as well. I think that his involvement in the offense is in direct relation to his decreasing faith in Crowton to run an offense.

I think that Miles, like many other head coaches, probably will dictate certain plays based on game situations.

quote:

We don't spread it out any more now than we did in 07.

Our runs are from formations more characteristic of a spread offense than a pro-style. We saw a more heavy dose or runs out of i-formation and singleback in 2007.
