Earlier today probably one of the most connected posters on Auburn's Rivals board made a thread titled "I want to go on the record"...and the body was "And say I wanted Saban to stay. Oh well."

Saban is all about chasing history.

He would become the greatest college ever and possibly the best football coach to ever live if he won a title at Texas. The opportunity to do it one last time at Texas has to be playing in the back of his mind.

How fast could Saban rebuild Texas?

Has an NFL coach ever left to take a college job without being fired/on the hot seat? Saban to Texas would be as shocking as Richard Simmons coming out of the closet. I dunno, maybe it's LeBron to the Raptors or something.

Texas doesn't have a QB - so who the coach is might not matter. Ash is good but 1 hit from never playing the sport again (or remembering his name). No matter who replaces Mack, first order of business is Juco QB.
