Generally, in high level hirings negotiations you don't publicly fly a guy in if it isn't to sign and announce. It is a lot of work to get to this point. Plus with Bama opening up and us not getting Kiffin forced up the timeline.

Yep. I've heard Coach O may have his next STs coach but I like the idea of bringing in Traylor and having Bobby April in a consulting role.

traylor would be a great hire for ST, surprised herman didn't keep him for in state recruiting, to be honest.

I know I am rapid firing at you, but the power spread thing is interesting. Out of our candidate pool, the only one who really runs a power spread is Kiffin, and he's only done it for one year. Gilbert is veer and shoot. Helfrich is spread option. Riley is more of a pass-first guy. Canada is the closest, but most would call his offense this year pro-style because it was mainly run under center and he didn't have a DT QB.
Are all of these guys being asked to convert and actually run a power spread here, or is that term just being thrown around generically?
Gilbert had a 2000 yard rusher and Riley had a strong running attack. IMO, Helfrich was the farthest thing from a power spread OC. It was spread option. Canada is a good mix of pro and spread. It will be interesting to see what he could bring to the table. I believe he can run a power spread offense.

Coach O needs to do anything possible to bring Brett Bech back to LSU as Strength coach.

Judge on after his hires, signing day, and next season. Quit judging after 2 weeks. It's ok to be positive. LSU fans like to be miserable. Historically keep a class together after a coaching hire is impossible. What O has done for the most part keeping the class together is remarkable. As Interim HC, he could give out more offers.
Fair. However, how often do you see a program like Alabama or Ohio State viewed with any kind of negative perception? Controlling that is part of the deal of being a big time HC.
A lot of the negative perception is coming from comments from our own commitments. The coaching search really wouldn't be an issue if a few of our important commits weren't talking very publicly about their concerns. O's actions may not be a problem, but this is. It isn't made up on a message board. Whatever the cause, this part is real.
The real knock on O here is something you said yourself, if ultimately true. He believed his "friend" and took him at his word. Who else wouldn't be skeptical of Lane Kiffin?

We need to interview the OC at LaTech
4K yard passer, 1k rusher and two 1k yard WRs

You've been an unabashed shill for Os cronies in the AD since the head coaching search was underway. Don't annoint yourself some tremendous champion of objectivity now. We can judge the evidence for ourselves.
P.S. Your woeful tale about Kiffins supposed betrayal of O is why a competent AD would never hire a HC based on totally unenforceable, self-serving, grandiose stump speeches about who he can bring aboard as an assistant. Naturally, those assurances proved to be meaningless. Dumb as rocks.

Gilbert was my personal favorite of the group, because he could bring the veer and shoot offense without all the baggage of the Briles'. However, I think you are right about Canada. At least I hope so. He certainly seems like the easiest to transition to with our current roster. I felt that way the first time I saw Pitt play this year.

LSU pays its position coach much more than FAU's OC
I don't think anyone is worried about Sark being FAU's offensive coordinator.

Kiffins decsion was ballsy. appears that he really wants to get his career back on track. He'll be back to P5 HC by 2020
Seriously doubt it.
FAU is not a place where he will likely win.

He wouldn't be able to afford his habits on what C-USA/Sun Belt position coaches get paid.
I know. That was bad. I hope the guy cleans up his act and heads here to be QB coach. I think that would be a great hire if he can keep his shite together.

What I am calling a Power spread is similar to what I assume you are calling Veer and Shoot. In the manner of doubling at the POC with a puller either a HB or Guard. Spread the field, strech the field vertically, and then mainly run off tackle down hill.

I'm not saying your post is BS but when did Riley interview?
He's been on the road from Houston to New York recruiting and attending events such as the Heisman ceremony

I brought that up because Kiffin wanted to bring Sark to UH as OC.
Posted on 12/12/16 at 8:41 pm to tigerbaitlawyer
I feel you, but FAU is a shitty CUSA school with no program history.
It's almost unbelievable that Kiffin went there. Sark would be insane to follow him.

Who is performing the interviews?

Who's the third the wr from IMG? I think he's made ground with Akers. But Akers would be all LSU if Jimbo was here.

I know the UT QB was hurt during the later part of the season, but I read that a lot of UT fans was upset with some of the play calling in critical situations. I also read that he hadn't been a playcaller for very long. Not sure if true though. Gilbert was also a guy that I wanted to get an interview also. I'm just ready for LSU to utilize an up to date offense.
