What part of LSU vs Auburn screams Ferrari?
you mean the 6 potential first round draft picks at the beginning of the year, preseason #3?.. The auburn game is on the coach, hence why he was fired the next day.. god help us if any of you emotional bastards ever had to make a logical decision, yall are worse than a damn bleeding woman..

Yep. Although I think it would be bad in the long run. The local and national media would go ballistic if O didn't get the job on that scenarios.
that is the sole reason you do not make that call then..
you take the media hit and do what is best for the overall long-term health of the program.

I find myself wondering if LSU makes it to the playoff,
If that happens then Coach Oeaux gets the job, it is truly that simple! Under no circumstances does LSU make the playoffs and he doesn't get the job!

Just want to drop in and say, I approve of your work in this thread.

I've been one of the biggest anti-O guys on here the last few months and even I know that if we make the playoff, hell even win the SEC, CEO will be the coach next year. Doesn't mean I'd like the move, but there's no way you don't hire him after that. You don't turn around and essentially fire a coach for making the playoff.

hence, interim coach, he should not even be considered.. he is essentially doing what many could do with the pre-season expectations..

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with this. Just saying, you can't expect the administration to bring in someone new if that scenario plays out.

you can if they have balls to do the right thing and not fall to ignorant emotional pressure.. No one else wants the guy as their head coach, why should an elite program such as LSU want him?

Uh what? Who else on staff had any HC experience? Seemed pretty damn logical to me.

A national championship in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. You go all out to win it this year, whatever it takes. If that's puts you behind hiring next year's staff, so be it. You owe the fans, coaches, but most importantly players, to throw every ounce of support into winning the championship this year if it's within reach. After that, let the chips fall where they may.

If LSU makes the playoff, Orgeron gets the job.
Whether anyone likes it or not matters in the least, because LSU would not have a choice.

It is an emotional hire.. not a logical one.. he was given the keys to a ferrari... one of the most loaded teams in the country, and he was the right man to bring in new energy and life. but he is not the long term solution.
Coming in and winning the past three weeks is emotions. There is no way possible that you can convince me that the next four games and the SEC championship could be won strictly on emotions and not good coaching. Therefore, if Coach O wins out, he should absolutely be considered. If they were to win out, hypothetically, Coach O should be seriously considered in the top 3, if not at the top. Any attempt to argue otherwise has no logic.
