IF Spurrier were to come to LSU, would Tyrone Nix follow him here? Or with the abundance of other jobs opening up would he be in line to get a head coaching gig? Thoughts?

I think Tyrone Nix is at the top of the USM heading coaching list, considering he played there.

I was thinking SC might promote him to HC, but starting off at USM might be better for him. Still can't believe they fired Bower.

Bower was going through a rough time with his family and dealing with what happened to his daughter.

His daughter died 10 years ago.
ETA: tiger4life - he had another daughter that was killed in a car accident in 97, her senior year of high school.

It was time for some fresh blood at USM. Bower had a string of winning seasons going back into the early nineties or something like that, but going 7-6 or 7-5 in the Conference USA now isn't that impressive.

You sure you want nix as a DC? I know its south carolina's defense but his defense gave up 450 rushing yards to arkansas.
