This actually isn’t a bad spot for an up and coming OC. Before the wheels fell off this season Tulane was a top 20 offense in the FBS. You have a good young QB in Michael Pratt and some decent weapons to work with.

Who should be getting a call for this job? Some names I’ve heard floating around are Kevin Kelly (the dude from Arkansas who never punts), Alex Atkins (FSU OL coach and former Tulane interim OC), maybe someone from the FCS (Greg Stevens -SELA, Russ Callaway - Samford, Ryan Carty - Sam Houston)

Probably need to go with a young innovative coordinator over an old burnout.

Didn’t Kelly take a college head coaching job?

Tulane looked like they were going to have a decent team after the first two weeks. What happened?

Atkins will be promoted to OC when/if Dilly goes to Oregon

Tulane was one of the worst defenses in the country (although they did improve somewhat down the stretch). Combine that with the offensive regression and you get 2-10.

I think the biggest thing to do with the offensive struggles is Pratt playing hurt most of the year. For some reason Fritz decided to leave him in the Ole Miss game when we were down 40 in the second half and he fricked up his throwing shoulder.

Half of the games weren’t even close but the other half that were, Tulane folded every time in the most critical moments. Turnovers, missed FG’s, blown coverages, etc.

Also this isn’t an excuse… but the schedule was pretty tough for a team like Tulane. They played like 5 or 6 ranked teams with a couple of them being in the top 10.
