Williams would be a great hire but I would think someone like Baker is more on LSU's radar for numerous reasons. He has recruiting connections in areas LSU likes to be fertile in. He's a pretty good LB coach and recruiter. I wouldn't hate that hire at all.

U keep clinging to those stats. Not exactly the best indicator of recruiting prowess. Check Raymonds (an ace recruiter and our best) rankings and you will get my point.

They both will probably get interviewed.

Baker makes $700k - I don't think LSU is paying that for a LB coach if he wants the same money

I would be happy with either Williams or Baker but would actually prefer Williams due to is recruiting ties to Alabama and Georgia.

Although Baker has some ties in Texas, do we really need another guy with LA ties?

Maybe they like baker since he was already a dc.

He did just get demoted. Diaz will be calling plays again

I would also be concerned about his social justice warrioring behind the scenes. There are people who say he was pivotal in splitting the locker room and others who say he held it together so don't know what to believe but it would be a concern.

As long as he can coach, recruit, and lead, that's really all that matters

You are obsessed with travis williams.

The fact that he failed the film study with mason is somewhat concerning.

If you followed him you'd know those rankings don't mean dick. He'd be a good hire plus he has DC experience so it can't really hurt gameplans. I'd imagine O is going to want to surround the young guy with a little experience there.

Travis Williams has never played or coached an Okie/3-4, 2 gap system like Aranda and Mason run, and he hasn't been coaching all that long (5 years?). Its not a knock on Williams that he didn't do well in the interview, and he is a good recruiter. My guess is that there's probably a better coaching fit that LSU will hire, or if Williams is hired your DC will assist Williams until he's comfortable. Steele did that with Williams at AU.

You might be right about the LB coach at the U making
700000 but one of their problems has been they aren`t
known to pay anyone that kind of money.
