Cromwell seems legit. If A&M's offense really is 6th in the country, then this guy is a genius. They were horrible last year. I also like the fact he worked with Holmgren. Hire this guy!

The only problem is the Cromwell and Sherman are boys. They have been coaching together for a while. I think it would be tough to get him to leave.

That's unfortunate. As far as the other OCs on that list, I'm not sold on Holgorson. The Arizona OC seems to have potential. I haven't seen any of their games this year however.

I have seen a couple. They have put up some points and are pretty young on offense. That qb who transferred from MSU looks good. Arizona will be better next year. They have looked good from what I have seen.

Greg Davis would be an AWFUL choice to replace Les. Yes, Texas runs up plenty of points on the JV defenses they play by over-running them with talent, but look at them when they were losing to OU all the time; he can't solve comparably good defenses. And yes, they beat USC but that was Vince Young. If they play UF or Bama in the NC, I would expect Texas to have a very difficult time.

Are you kidding? Did you just call Davis a "great" OC? Tell that to Longhorns fans, they would get a good laugh out of that one.

Yeah, I don't see any way in hell we'd hire that guy. Style just doesn't blend.

Les needs to realize his role as a HC is not as a strategist. It's a game manager (not even a good one at that) and motivator. He needs to turn the O&D to his respective coordinators and let them do what they get paid to do.

D. Dooley, if an experienced, offensive-minded HC if Miles leaves, such as Pat Hill at Fresno St.?

I doubt Les is going anywhere and I don't know who we should hire as OC.

Les is a good program manager, but a terrible game coach, so I sure would love somebody who understands how to structure and pace a game. And knows when to call a damn time-out.

I would think one of the older OCs out there would probably fit that bill, someone analagous to what we have in Chavis. Any ideas?

Do they run the ball frequently also, or are they one-dimensional?

2. Nolan Cromwell (OC Texas A&M)
Aggies offense is ranked 6th overall. He has experience coaching mobile quarterbacks. Cromwell coached three Super Bowl offenses under Mike Holmgren (2 with Green Bay, 1 with Seattle). Also coaches in the area. Only his first season at the college level.

3. Justin Fuente (Co-OC, Running Backs Coach TCU)
Coordinates the 4th ranked offense, and is the RB coach for the 5th ranked rushing offense. Also coaches in the area.

These are my top two choices. I love the schemes and execution of both these teams.

Holgerson and Dykes run the "air raid" same thing as Tony Franklin. Can it work in the SEC? hell yes and we should go get a guy like this

Not a big fan of the air raid thing unless you have a stud QB.

He seems qualified, but I'm kind of hesitant about the whole Co-coordinator thing. Which offensive coordinator is responsible for the great offensive play at TCU? If he was the only OC at TCU, I would put him as my top choice alongside Cromwell.

Cromwell's Offense looking good versus the Horns. Break the bank for this guy.

Actually, nevermind I"m thinking of someone else.

It could work though. Hal Mumme made Tim Couch the #1 pick with the Air Raid at Kentucky.

FWIW, auburn never really let Franklin run his "true" system when he was there. Not completely anyway..the handcuffs were on him and it showed.

I can promise you Les' set of cuffs are much bigger than the cuffs Auburn owns

It doesn't help that Gary Crowton is inept.

Crowton is NOT the problem!!! It takes a coach like Miles to make a coach as good as GC look this bad! Gary Crowton has performed WAYYYYY better with less talent before coming to LSU only to have Les tinker with his play style.
