There aren't many choices out there if Les leaves. Pelini or Mullen would be the best LSU can do right now, unless they can pull some mystery guy from the NFL.

I thought Butch Davis actually cleaned up the U. I may be mistaken but I seem to have registered that in my brain at some point. I know the agent thing at N.C., but was that all? There were quite a few teams caught up in that b.s.
I like Butch Davis as a coach and a recruiter, but like everybody else, definitely don't want a cheater. Just not sure where he falls. And I definitely don't want a bunch of thugs representing LSU.

Sark is an interesting choice that never really occurred to me for some reason. I've seen a lot of him living in Seattle, and he seems to be a really personable guy and a solid coach. I think he'd be a solid hire.
eta: I don't know if he'd be interested in leaving the west coast though.

Pinkel follows the LSU logic, rescue a coach from either a recruiting wastleand or a big brother little brother rivalry. hand him the keys to our talent and watch the magic happen. we have to get a coach that will make the most of Mett. Mullen is not the answere to that.

This is what scares me -- look at Florida. That, and the possibility of Alleva completely botching the hire.
I'm not crazy about Miles, but shite, if he makes a good OC hire, LSU could keep truckling along in the first tier of the SEC (or re-enter the first tier, at least). A bad hire and shite could be set back for years.
