Tom Hermann vs Charlie Strong (parallels)

Don't get me wrong, Tom Herman could be the next Urban Meyer and I wouldn't be upset if we hired him.
However, let's look at him vs Strong.
Hermann was an elite Coordinator and won an NC.
Strong was an elite Coordinator and won an NC.
Herman upset some big dogs at an AAC school.
Strong upset some big dogs at an AAC school.
Herman has had some inexplicable losses at an AAC school. (SMU, UCONN, NAVY)
Strong has had some inexplicable losses at an AAC school. (UCONN, UCF)
Not to mention that Sumlin won an NC as a coordinator and went undefeated at UH. He isn't doing terrible, but he isn't a championship coach at TAMU either.
AGain, Herman may still yet be the next big thing, but he could be a flash in the pan too.
Fisher is the proven commodity. He should be the clear #1 choice, although Herman is a solid #2. With our plan B-Z options being Gundy, Fedora, Whittingham, Macintyre, etc. Just not Coach O. We need to at least try a new offense.

Tom Herman is a MENSA member.

So? That didn't save him when SMU and Navy went in dry.

Agree and its funny how people can't grasp why he's our top target.
As for Herman vs Strong, Herman just seems to have that extra gear (trying not to say IT factor)

If we don't get Tom "Mensa" Herman, I'd be pretty happy with the fallback plan of Jumbo Fishhead.

Strong's having a few bad seasons because he blew up the program to start from square one, he has to do a lot more sh*t at Texas that takes away from the x's and o's part of it having to grease hands with those slimey cesspool sewer rats they call boosters, his defense can't tackle a 90lb hooker in high heels, his staff is sh*t (probably his fault).
None of those things will Herman have to deal with here.

The number of people that believe I.Q. is related to intelligence is beyond me by the same metric everyone that spews that repeatedly has a room temperature one.

I tend to agree, but Strong posted just as "strong" (I hate myself) a record at Lville as Herman ever did at UH.
I'm just saying looking at it objectively, it's far from a guarantee that he is good. AT least Jimbo has shown he can run a top program and win championships.

But Strong had a NFL caliber quarterback with Teddy Bridgewater to win for him at Louisville. I don't think Herman's QB is on the same level. Strong may parallel better with Curly and Brett Favre.

You're 100% correct. Tom Herman is really an unknown. I would be happy if we hired him. However the masses here would be calling for Joe Alleva's head if he were to able to hire herman and he failed over here like strong did in Texas.

Strong did not inherit our defense and Aranda.

UCF was 12-1 and finished the season ranked #10. How was that inexplicable?

Fisher has proven that he can lose 7 games in 2 years, 2 of which were embarrassing blowout losses...all while have significantly more talent than all the teams he lost to. That is your proven commodity. You kids are incredible.

He has three wins against top-6 opponents, including victories over two national championship-winning coaches.

Beat a top-5 Florida team that many felt was immensely overrated and relatively unproven in 2012.

Sumlin didn't go undefeated at houston.
He also went 1-1 vs ranked teams invisible 13-1 season. One being PSU the year JoPa was forced out and they lost their last 4 games
