No legit media reported Lincoln to LSU though. In fact, they almost all dismissed it totally

Lincoln wasn't coming to LSU. He used LSU as leverage to get what he wanted.
Looks like he wanted to stay at Oklahoma with a big raise and more resources, but USC swooped in and sniped him out from under OU's nose.
He didn't want to face the gauntlet of the SEC every year without comparable resources. His best option was to escape the SEC altogether. He has faced SEC teams and they consistently destroy him.
