That's the current hot rumor in these parts.
Tim has done a good job at Toledo and was a former coach at OSU under Tressel.

WHO???
Is this the BEST Illinois could do?
I look for them to be at the bottom of the Big10 with Indiana next year with this type of weak hire.

quote:No its not. He is basically a no name that wont recruit well. Illinois will stay at the same level or drop down in the B10 with that hire.
great hire if true

Tim Beckman is a damn good coach, he'll be fine.
Illinois just went with a guy who was a recruiter and that sure got them far. Tim is a coach who will get the most out of his players.

like illinois ever recruits 'well' anyways?
he wont create a buzz, but thats not what illinois needs; they need someone which will field a competitive team and win some football games.
i was highly impressed with his coaching vs ohio state and syracuse despite the last minute losses; his squad was severely out-talented but his game plan kept the rockets in both.

Is this like your prediction of Brady Hoke to Michigan last year, and how UM was going to see more of the endings like the Gator Bowl versus Mississippi State? Nice prediction.

Michigan couldn't have beat hardly anybody in the SEC this year.
If they were in the SEC west they would be 3-5 at BEST

And that relates to doing poorly in the Big Ten how?
