He said that since they have not made an offer, Kiffin has not accepted the position. He said that they hope to make a decision by tomorrow between Major Applewhite, Todd Orlando, Les Miles, Lincoln Riley, or Lane Kiffin.
He called the rumor that Lane Kiffin was going to be the next HC as "nasty". I don't know if he is pissed that it leaked in case Kiffin turns down an offer or if he thinks it was leaked to scare away another coach.

Well he called in to dispel the rumor. It is not like a reporter asked him and he had to give that response. If he did not want to say something, then he could have stayed quiet and not called into the show.

Sounds like Fertitta is pissed that Kiffin's camp MIGHT be leaking info to create public pressure on the UofH administration.

Kiffin will be here barring any true craziness. Saban is pushing him towards Houston. He'll just jump in a year or two if he goes there though and I think they know that.

No secret that Kiffin wants to be a head coach again. Houston is a good job but not one of the elite 5 or 10 imo. If he is successful at LSU he can write his own ticket.

Beaver has two division titles in two seasons. Muschamp greatly improved SC this season. Kirby still has the jury out. You're just wrong.

The perception is that Saban is reigning Kiffin in, managing him. O won't be perceived to have the same control as Saban does over his assistants.
