There was a second part to that thought, what is the end goal?
To throw off who? The general public?
You're not going to confuse Texas, Herman's agent will try and get top dollar from whichever program will hire Herman. If LSU offered 8 mil, Texas will know that there is an 8 mil offer on the table and they'll have to beat it. It doesn't matter where the money is coming from, its all worth the same.
The only people who are being thrown into a loop is the general public, and why try to mislead them?

Herman has shown zero interest in LSU. None. Nothing suggests that he's even remotely interested in coming here.

I used to think this. After reading everything I could on this situation, I had to come to the conclusion that Jimbo did nothing wrong.
Sometimes coaches take chances on players an we read about how everything went wrong. It's not often we get to hear about everything going right.
Out of all the players Jimbo has been involved with, only 2 stand out with "holy shite" situations.
