Supporters are gonna say we had to go cheap with the OC because of Aranda's new contract and we couldn't do much with a TE coach and a new starting QB.

No this is pretty much it. Less than 9 wins and he’s gone. He can’t afford to get worse in his 2nd year.

Maybe O forced Canada out with the buyout so LSU would be less likely to afford to buy him out when he continues to fail.

His buyout will be ~$4M after the 2018 regular season: LSU can afford that, while promoting Aranda, and still have enough to get Aranda a staff.
