There was obviously a lot of smoke to the rumors if he had to sign a new contract.

Mack Brown has some balls and he wasn't going out like that. Mack Brown > Texas athletic department.

So those recruits he visited were just making shite up?

Just like the OP I had no doubt as well. My posting history will show as much.

Anyone with some rational sense realized this was most likely Saban's last contract ever and Sexton was going to get as much out of Bama as they could. Texas is a cluster frick right now and a terrible set up for what Saban likes to accomplish.
