There are a lot of pussies on this board that undervalue LSU

All the people saying anyone other than Jimbo or Herman are going to suck here are ridiculous. Gerry freaking Dinardo went 10-2 and 9-3 with half the resources we have now. Les Miles, the most stubborn coach ever who could barely form a coherent sentence won a NC and played for another. Lots of coaches could win big here
LSU is a top 8 job and historically a borderline Top 10 program

I largely agree with you. But I'd still rather have Jimbo or Herman. They are the best coaches we're wooing.

True. But it's more fun to be excited about the new hire before he fails to meet expectations.

Plenty of coaches out there could be very successful at LSU. It would be nice to get a huge name but I think others could do great as well. I am setting myself up with Fedora as the escape plan if bigger fish aren't hauled in and I would be good with that.

I give you the 80's and 90's as an argument.

Dude I am the same as you. What's even funnier is the people that say the recruiting will be way worse with a guys like Kelly, Fedora, Mullen, Fleck and Gundy, LMFAO. How good of a recruiter was Saban or Miles before they got here? LSU is even a bigger brand now than when Miles first inherited it from Saban. It's seen as an NFL factory with guys making plays at damn near every position.

Winning makes recruiting a HELL of a lot easier. Playing good football on a big stage makes recruiting a lot easier. Do people really believe that a guy will come here and not have recruiting, and locking down the state, as one of his top priorities?

Recruiting only goes so long. I mean Auburn was within the top 12 over the past several years and made it to 2 national championship games with bad to just decent head coaches. Oregon made it twice with anywhere from top 15-30 recruiting classes, Clemson's 2015 championship game appearance was a culmination of the 15th, 15th, 17th, and 9th ranked classes.

At worst LSU will have top 15 classes during the first 2 years, and with a true X's and O's coach, we won't have to heavily rely on being the 2nd most talented team in the SEC and 4th most talented in the country just to win games against lower competition. Les Miles has the cabinet fully stocked and we will still be loaded with just decent recruiting over the next 3 years. I mean did you see the difference in Texas' recruiting from year one with Charlie? He hadn't even won anything (not even a bowl), was not a huge recruiter at Louisville, yet his full classes at Texas finished 10th, and then 7th (his first was 16th but that's with just being hired). His classes at Louisville, 44th (just being hired and 8th in conference), 28th (5th conference), 48th (8th conference), 37th (8th conference), and that's AFTER WINNING with Teddy B.

LSU will be fine with a multitude of dudes, don't panic over the hire people. As long as O is not the guy. There is a list of guys I would be perfectly fine with.

You speak of high level recruiting and any coach could do a great job here, but put this little gem in there. You sir have discounted your whole wall of text with this statement.

LOL, you didn't even read it. I said any coach could recruit well here. Them being an X's an O's coach with the talent LSU can gets, makes winning easier with less talent, but in turn makes recruiting easier. O as a CEO is what we just went through with Miles. O reverts to playing scared in crunch time and wants LSU to remain stagnant on offense with a pro style offense and pro style only QBs. He was terrible when he was his own DC at Ole Miss, so the guy doesn't have a leg to stand on.
