Coach O is doing a very good (not great) job of the 1 of the 2: Winning games with the talent on board. This is where Miles came up short later in his tenure.

The second part of the job is assembling the talent as a Head Coach. We know have no evidence of success in this regard for Coach O as a Head Coach. This is why he is such a huge risk.

The boys are playing very good (not great) football since he took over, but what happens next year, or the year after, when he has to also assemble the team?

If you mean hiring the best coordinators possible, well he canned Cameron and promoted the tight ends coach and it has worked out well. I have no reason to believe that he will do the same in December when OC's are up for grabs from other universities.

Recruiting talent is not the question mark about O. It is if he can assemble an effective staff. That is the part we don't know the answer to. Even at his failed tenure at Ole Miss he could recruit talent.

He hired Hugh Freeze while at Ole Miss. He also hired Dan Werner who is the co-offensive coordinator at Ole Miss now.
