The ultimate trial balloon?

Is it just possible the leak that SE will be named LSU’s OC is a trial balloon, designed to gauge the response of the university’s many constituencies?
If public response is cataclysmic, the powers that be can go in a different direction.
If the response is only lukewarm, then they may just roll with it.
Not saying I necessarily believe this is the case, but you have to wonder why so much time is passing without an official announcement.

That would be pretty risky considering all the negative that has brought to the program and fan base thus far.

well if they needed to float a trial balloon to see that fans wouldn't like the promotion of a guy that's been on staff for 8 years and hasn't ran his own offense in 20 years a year after being promised the best coordinators in America....well I'd say the administration is dumber than any of us thought
