The Next Head Coach has to be

some one who can go toe to toe with saban and recruit the trenches. The game last night was lost in February.
You can want an offensive coach all you want. That doesn't guarantee the defensive will continue have the talent or attention needed to compete. Besides Bama is beating the offensive coaches too. (Swinny, Malzahn, Freeze, Sumlin etc.)
I was a Jimbo guy, however, I'm no longer. I don't think he has a very good o-line. and can't recruit the trenches needed to compete with the big boys Bama would continue to dominate our offense Just like louisville did. I'm not on the O train but I'm not against him either. He is one guy, with the right OC, that can go toe to toe in recruiting the trenches with Bama.
Last night wasn't on O. He was given a qb, oline, and a already implemented scheme to try and compete with. LSU was not out coached. They were out talented in a couple of areas. (qb and oline)
People think Kiffin is a great offensive mind, well, A talented Defense with a talented D.C. made him look average at best. He had two weeks to prepare and scheme too. LSU just happens to have equal talent and coaching on defense. Bama has the edge on the offensive side of the ball. Better qb and better o-line, LSU is right there.
Whomever, the next guy is. We need someone that can recruit the trenches and qb position. We can't forget about the defense and only focus on offense. I don't care if that is a offensive guy, defensive guy, or whatever.

I'm not telling you that you shouldn't be happy if you get Jimbo. You should. The man is a winner and he will do a great job at LSU if he comes.
But, you will get so frustrated with the OL. Trickett insists on using zone blocking as his primary blocking scheme. You will get tired of seeing DL meet the RB two yards deep in the backfield "because someone missed his block." You will get tired of OL getting called for holding because the zone technique requires a lot of "reach blocking."
But, you will also see running backs sliding through seams and getting to the second level.
It will be a mixed bag, for sure. Against most opponents, it will be successful. But, don't expect a Trickett OL to line up against Bama or anybody else and just attack them and move them off their spot. Not gonna happen.
(Note: We had to score late last night to beat NCSU, a team that lost to Boston College, only one week after we took Clemson to the wire and were in FG range to win the game.)

The talent on the field was pretty even except for OLine and QB where the difference was so overwhelmingly in favor of Bama. Honestly, there was no way we could have won the game. We could have had 6 more quarters and we wouldn't have scored without Bama's D having a broken play or defensive touchdown.
The offensive line was atrocious. The worst offensive line I've seen since Miles has been here. I don't understand how they could be so bad.

I think it's safe to say Miles hired the wrong guy in grimes. This is year three and it's bad. It's been bad all year.

A young energetic Offensive mind...someone who will put a bullet in the head of the I formation.
