Now I know Saban is an outlier, but i feel like Kiffin is a better fit than most.

They called Les the mad hatter. He had his gimmicks (mostly at floridas expense) and they always seemed to work. Dude ate grass. Won big at LSU.

Orgeron is fricking Orgeron. Constantly in the media, they once did a whole segment on gameday trying to talk like him. Dude was just giddy to be there. Massive character. Won big at LSU.

I remember when people complained that LSU hired "goofy" coaches.

And yet, theyre the ones that embrace Louisiana the most, and the ones who win.

BK was so fricking....boring. It made everything worse.

Lane is a character. He takes regular jabs at other schools, hes more plugged in to social media than others , and hes a wisecracking a-hole. He'd fit right in and I think he would take the culture and run with it. You have to be a little bit insane to thrive in BR.

LK would win here. Think we all know that. This is such a pivotal hire.

If “goofy” is what you’re going for, then Drink may not be a bad choice.

If the coaching search absolutely implodes and the building catches on fire, then sure. Ill take him.

Anyone who touches Kiff are rolling dice. One day he might outgrow it , but so far he hasn't. If we can keep him until he's 55- 60 , he might be too old to be the shiney new toy. If he wins 3 or 4 NCs he could stay until he's 70 then have a statue.

Don’t know and don’t care as long as they win

Outgrow what? Talking trash? Posting on social media? As long as he wins, who cares? Steve Spurrier never "outgrew" that attitude. It was fun.

Winning is ALL that matters. Do that, then no one cares what type of personality a coach has. I'm not hopeful my team hires a coach that is a nice guy, or humble, or quiet, etc. They aren't hiring my new bestest buddy. I just want someone who wins...end of story.

Big characters are family here. We all have that uncle/aunt who everyone knows because they're just bigger than life. Hell you're proud to be in their family because people love them so much.

That's Louisiana. The Coach of LSU can't be bland. He's got to be loving life like the rest of us. And he has to win. You do that and we'll embrace all your flaws and defend you to the death.

But you have to hold up your end.

You must win.

Greatest Team in the History of LSU was under his watch for sure. But he didn't have sustained success so that wouldn't really equate to "winning big." He Coached the greatest team ever, leave it at that.

Again, he won 1 Championship and shat the bed in a second appearance. He won a lot of games but failed to consistently compete for Championships due to his inability to adapt offensively. He recruited and developed extremely well at LSU but his offenses held LSU back for years.

Lane would always field a good offensive team. Which wasn't always the case with the other two coaches you mentioned that Won Championships prior to Kelly.

I found it odd that, no matter the fandom, EVERYBODY I talked to hated BK. Always the same thing. “Man, I like your school, but I hate your coach.”
I always wanted to be “hated” out of jealousy. Like how opposing fans “hated” Tebow, Cam or Honey Badger. People just have a flat out disdain for Kelly. It’ll be nice to have a pulse again and someone at the helm who isn’t universally despised.
