Butch Davis built the greatest team ever assembled. Period. The guy can flat out recruit AND coach.

And they still didnt win a bcs championship playing the the big fricking east.
He did a great job with what he had to work with, but he also had some amazing players sitting in his back yard. With how good our classes have been, people expect les miles to have won more. Its not always about how good you can recruit.

quote:honestly, these are my 1a and 1b. i would assume patterson brings his OC with him and dont have a problem with it. hopefully, malzahn will keep chavis. im fine either way. i think malzahn has the highest ceiling, and is the biggest risk
So, LLAMA, would you rather get Patterson, and try to find a competent OC, or get an Offensive guy like Mullen or Malzahn, and try to keep Chief?

Hays, this thread is fun and meant to be entertaining, if not informative. Try not to get your thong in a wad.
Take some deep breaths and just go with the flow...I really don't think Miles is going anywhere, but he could sure end that speculation himself, right?

They are not hiring anyone that runs that "soft arse spread"
They may not get a Michigan man but the fan base/alumni base wants traditional Big 10/Man football.
Take any coach that runs a similar offense as RR off. They jumped at RR after App St beat them with the spread option and now they are kicking themselves.

I wonder if Chavis would be interested in leading the whole program?
Seems like he would just want to focus on his defense, though.
